The climate crisis and the causes of the greenhouse effect created by human activities have highlighted the damage that non-renewable fossil fuels cause to nature and have forced us to make commitments to reverse the course for a more sustainable world.
Solar energy is clean energy that is transformed into valuable energy. Already in 2011, we completed the installation of a photovoltaic system to exploit alternative and renewable energy sources. The plant comprises 384 amorphous silicon photovoltaic modules (nominal power of each module: 0.120 kWp). We installed this plant to create a photovoltaic system used by Spiga’s users, characterized by a small capacity of 46.08 kWp. The annual production of energy is estimated at around 50,000 kWh.
The photovoltaic system and the cogeneration boiler improve the company’s energy efficiency.
This plant is accompanied by a cogeneration system fueled by methane gas for the combined electricity production and saturated steam. The cogeneration plant, launched at the end of 2020, allows Spiga Nord to self-produce over 60% of the electricity needed. Furthermore, cogeneration makes it possible to reduce CO2 emissions, thus reducing the “carbon footprint” linked to the production process.
But we didn't stop there.
We all know how dangerous substances released into the environment pollute water and land with hazardous consequences for a man who gets his nourishment from the earth.
Our products are PURE VEGETABLE, characterized by high chemical and microbiological purity and by the absence of these substances dangerous to humans, such as residual solvents, mycotoxins, pesticides, heavy metals and related substances.
Furthermore, all our finished products meet the requirements of the REACH regulation (Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals).
Spiga Nord produces Glycerine and Polyglycerols, green products derived 100% from VEGETABLE SUBSTANCES and GMO-FREE raw materials.
