100% natural products

Glycerine and Polyglycerols produced by Spiga Nord come from 100% vegetable and GMO-free raw materials. These ingredients are obtained as natural by-products of vegetable oil processing. Therefore, SPIGA NORD operates within a fully green supply chain.

Consequently, its Glycerol and Polyglycerol are certified by Ecocert Greenlife under ECOCERT and COSMOS standards. Indeed, their plant origin makes them ideal for formulations requiring 100% natural ingredients. This is especially relevant for cosmetic applications and for technical uses aimed at replacing petrochemical components.

Pure and safe products

SPIGA NORD products offer high chemical and microbiological purity. For instance, they contain no hazardous substances such as residual solvents, mycotoxins, pesticides, heavy metals or diethylene glycol. Thus, they meet the strict requirements of the pharmaceutical market.

Additionally, all finished products comply with the REACH regulation. Meanwhile, registration of Pure Vegetable Polyglycerine-3 and Diglycerine has been successfully completed. Moreover, Glycerine is included in Annex V of the Regulations, and long-chain Polyglycerols qualify as Polymers, making them exempt from mandatory registration.

Sustainable resources

The technical staff continuously searches for sustainable solutions throughout the entire production process. For example, the company has invested significantly in renewable energy. In 2011, SPIGA NORD installed a photovoltaic system with 384 amorphous silicon modules and a total power of 46.08 kWp. As a result, annual energy production reaches about 50,000 kWh. Furthermore, this reduces dependence on traditional energy sources.
