Since February 24, 2022, the world has been daily following the painful conflict between Russia and Ukraine. Images of men, even very young, sent to war and of a suffering population.
After gruelling months, nearly seven million people have been forced from their homes, and over four million refugees have fled to neighbouring countries.
With the arrival of winter’s harshness and the increase in bad weather, an already dramatic situation has become even more onerous.
From the outset, thousands of volunteers and operators worldwide took action to support the people most affected. To bring them the necessary help and human closeness to alleviate and support their pain.
We at Spiga Nord also wanted to give our contribution.
Every gesture and every initiative is essential so as not to leave them alone.
In recent months, we have collected food and other items, which have left our warehouses on convoys to Ukraine. We responded to the urgent appeal to find necessities from the cultural and social promotion association “POKROVA” (translation from the Ukrainian “Patronage”), born from the members of the Ukrainian community in Liguria.
